What is WebSlides?

Diigo's patent-pending WebSlides, http://slides.diigo.com, is an incredibly easy way to convert your bookmarks and feeds and present them as live web pages in an interactive slideshow format - complete with the full conten pages, links, comments, and ads. It enables a new way to easily create and share unique presentations based on web content and user annotations.

To create WebSlides, users simply enter a feed or list of bookmarks and add background music or voice narration. By clicking  button, the list transforms into a slideshow, bringing Web pages and user comments to life. All you and your reader need is just a web browser.

How is WebSlides useful?

For users

This incredibly easy-to-use web-based software has many potential applications such as:
  • Create a guided tour for any website
  • Show a list of houses to real estate clients
  • Review a list of job candidates found online
  • Bundle important course resources for students
  • Provide a quick briefing, or a simple tutorial or guided tour on any subject
  • Share the favorite places you would like to visit with your friends and blog readers
  • The Possibilities are endless...

For content publishers

The potential benefits of WebSlides widgets to content owners are substantial:
  • Content creators can take advantage of this new presentation format to easily repackage and remix their content to attract additional page views. A blog, for example, can bundle its posts into various WebSlides to encourage browsing, embedding and distribution.
  • The slideshow format, along with pre-fetching enables and encourages readers to easily and quickly browse more pages, which of course, translates to greater exposure and more page views for content owners.
  • WebSlides widgets provide a compact and interesting way to show linkrolls and hot links from any RSS feed.
  • The annotation layer on each WebSlides allows the creator to further enrich the content through in-the-page highlighting, commenting and discussion.
